Timeshares are annoying. This is a fully staffed and BEAUTIFUL guesthouse. You can't miss this place in the distance on the relaxing ride to fire island. Men only allowed. Women get one week in the fall I believe. Wine and cheese, meet and greets. A very Uninhibited environment. Like clothing optional uninhibited. :-)

the pool is much smaller than it looks online and the cushions on the chairs around the pool are so worn out you might as well be laying on the hard chairs themselves
The Belvedere is a place like no other. It's The Haunted Mansion on a beach island with naked men and sexual energy everywhere. It would be nice if the hot tub stayed open past 11 pm, but that's my only complaint. I love it here.
On my last trip to Cherry Grove, a man on the ferry referred to the Grove as his "happy place." It had been mine, too, until my last visit to The Belvedere. I come out to Cherry Grove several times per season and stay at The Belvedere, as I have been doing for the last 10 years. So it was disappointing to have the owner give me side eye and looks of horror and disgust while I was taking sun by the pool and on the deck. I ignored this, but a guest then told me the owner was talking about me. In the age of body acceptance and awareness of body shaming, this should not have happened. I would be disgusted if a guest had done it, but the owner? That's just not good for business,
the young guys have a lot of attitude and the older people that work in the office seemed a bit tired of the whole thing.
The owners and staff are great. This place is line a fantastic piece of gay history.
